Anawim Domestic violence service

About ‘Anawim Domestic violence service’

Anawim support women who are at risk of serious injury or homicide due to domestic violence. We have a CAADA qualified IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) on site who works closely with these women. This work includes supporting the client through the criminal justice system, from reporting to police to attending court with them. It also includes completing an assessment and risk assessment to establish what the needs and risks are to the client, as well as giving advice on steps that can be taken to keep the client safe, including accommodation advice, referral to a refuge when necessary and advice on staying safe, e.g. non-molestation orders. We also facilitate appropriate referrals to any agencies and services that will complement the work we do, therefore working holistically to keep the woman as safe and well as possible. As part of the Domestic Violence support we offer, our IDVA runs weekly groups.

This service is part of the organisation called Anawim Women Working Together
