Supported Housing

About ‘Supported Housing’

We provide accommodation with support available from staff seven days a week. We manage many self- contained properties, bedsits and shared houses in various places across the city. The service is designed to help people who are experiencing mental health problems enabling people to gain the skills to move towards living as independently as possible, with access to housing-related support from staff whenever necessary. We give one-to-one support to each person, all designed around their individual needs, aims and ambitions. People using our service are allocated a Key Worker who they meet with on an appointment system. Support is available seven days a week to a maximum of 6 hours per week. All support offered is service-user led. We offer housing related support to our service users. This can cover a variety of different areas, including: maintaining your tenancy; helping with developing daily living skills; supporting you to source accommodation; advice for how to keep your home safe and secure; help in dealing with benefits and paperwork; help with accessing community facilities, including the use of public transport; support in adopting a healthier lifestyle, including advice about healthy cooking; assistance in dealing with neighbourly dispute, and support to overcome isolation.
